A former CIA officer who turned against the agency and exposed many undercover agents overseas for nearly 40 years. He joined the CIA in 1957, and worked undercover for eight years after three years of military training, but he became disillusioned with the agency and its covert intelligence work. Agee lived in Germany and Cuba for the most part, and operated a website, cubalinda.com. He wrote a book in 1975, “Inside the Company: CIA Diary,” that exposed 250 American officers, prompting Congress to pass the Intelligence Identities Protection Act in 1982.
