Larry Gelbart drew on his mordant wit and astute observations of the
human condition as the writer behind 97 episodes of M*A*S*H, the films
Tootsie and Oh, God!, and the
Broadway musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the
Forum. He was nominated for two Oscars
(Tootsie, Oh, God!), and won two
Emmy Awards (Your Show of Shows), and a Tony
(A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum).
