Singer, actress, philanthropist, and National Medal of Arts honoree. She had a longtime career in media from film to stage to opera. Hart was best-known as the lively panelist on TV show “To Tell the Truth” from 1956-1967. She served on the New York Council on Arts for 25 years, first as a member and later as chairman. She was married to playwright Moss Hart.
