Mugniyah was one of the world’s most feared men and one of America’s most wanted terrorists with a price tag of $25 million on his head. He was the leader of the Islamic Jihad Organization, a terrorist wing of the Shiite group Hezbollah. Mugniyah was implicated in a string of bombings and plane hijacking against the United States and Israel in the 1980s and 1990s. Syrian and Iranian officials and Hezbollah accused Israel for being responsible for his death, but Israel denied the charges.
