Gertrude Baines

Gertrude Baines became the oldest person in the world in January 2009, following the death of Portugal’s Maria de Jesus, who was 115. Baines credited her longevity to a temperate lifestyle. She also boasted that her diet consisted of fried chicken, bacon, and ice cream. Upon her death, Kama Chinen, 114, of Japan, became the world's oldest person.
