E. Howard Hunt

Best Known as: White House secret agent involved in Watergate scandal

Former CIA spy and secret agent for the White House during the Nixon administration. He was a 30-year-old novelist when he joined the CIA in 1949. He joined the Nixon White House in 1971 where he performed burglaries and break-ins in the name of national security. Hunt was partially responsible for the Watergate scandal that brought Nixon down in disgrace. He was arrested for his part in the Watergate case and sentenced to 33 months in prison for burglary, conspiracy, and wiretapping.
