Alan Hollinghurst won the Man Booker Prize for fiction in 2004 for
his novel, The Line of Beauty, a decade-long story
that depicts change and tragedy during the 1980s. Hollinghurst wrote for
the Times Literary Supplement from 1982-1995, and has since produced
novels that have won critical acclaim for their elegant, seductive, and
dream-like prose that all portray the lives of gay men in an atmosphere of
dark opulence and passion.
