The Question:
Do Americans get more or less time off than people in other
major countries?
The Answer:
Less. Much less. The World Tourism Organization reports that the
average American worker gets 13 vacation days per year. By contrast,
the average for Canada is 26 days; for the United Kingdom, 28 days;
and for Italy, 42 days.
For the current table, see Average Number of Vacation Days Around
the World Per Year.
