The Question:

What Major League Baseball team holds the record for winning the most consecutive games to start a season?

The Answer:

Two teams share the record. The 1982 Atlanta Braves and the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers each won the first 13 games of their respective seasons.

Here's a quick look at which teams hold the same record in the other three major pro sports leagues:

NFL The 1972 Miami Dolphins won the first 14 games of the league's then 14-game long regular season. Miami went on to win two playoff games and the Super Bowl, becoming the only undefeated NFL team in modern history.

NHL The Toronto Maple Leafs began the 1993-94 season by winning 10 straight games.

NBA The pro basketball record is shared by two teams as well. The now-defunct Washington Capitols began the 1948-49 season with 15 victories. The Houston Rockets started the 1993-94 season the same way. The Rockets went on to win the NBA Finals that season.
