 The Question:
Where can I find out the size and dimensions of a basketball
court? I want to paint one on the driveway.
The Answer:
I hope you have a big driveway! A regulation college court is 94
feet long and 50 feet wide, while high school courts are supposed to
be 84 by 50 feet. The free-throw line (2 inches wide) is 15 feet from
the backboard, which supports a basket 10 feet high at the upper edge.
Into this hoop you attempt to throw a ball between 29½ and 30
inches in circumference. If you're feeling daring, try sinking one
from the three-point line—19 feet, 9 inches out for amateur
play, or 22 feet if you think you can hang with the pros.
