Where can I find information about accidents involving ladders?
In July 2005, a USA Today magazine article stated that more than 222,000 people go to emergency rooms every year due to ladder-related injuries.
According to the National Safety Council, unintentional deaths are the fifth leading cause of death overall, exceeded only by heart disease, cancer, stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. Their complete report is in the National Safety Council's Injury Facts. Information on how to order the report can be found at their web site.
In addition, our website maintains a list of Deaths by Major Causes for every year since 1960. Fatal ladder falls are included under the "Accidents" column.
